Fixing Treo Digitizer

Has the touchscreen on your Treo 600/650/700 started misbehaving?

Does it act wonky, not responding at all, or responding very oddly?

This fix should get you moving and grooving again:

1. Take a piece of standard writing paper, standard weight, (nothing thick.)
2. Cut a piece to 2 inches squared.
3. Place the small paper directly on the screen.
4. Move the paper from edge to edge of the screen, left to right, top to bottom, while leaving about half an inch under the topmost/bottommost/leftmost/rightmost area. This 'brushes away' any remnant of dust/sand/? that is lodged under the screen well which is throwing the digitizer into confusion.

Once this process is done, just for good measure, push the reset button (paperclip, etc) and let the device reset as it would normally. After she comes back up, the digitizer should behave like the day she was born.

If problems persist, see the Palm Support area for specifics on how to hard reset your device. Once you do a hard reset, if the digitizer works properly, then you'll need to figure out which offending application is causing this to happen (last application installed?). An overload of Hackmaster 'hacks' is usually the cause of these kinds of things.
